The Milk We Drink
It is estimated that humans have consumed dairy products from cows, sheep and goats for at least 10,000 years.

A cow produces an average of 6.3 gallons of milk daily and 350,000 glasses of milk in a lifetime. Cows eat about 100 pounds of food every day and drink 50 gallons of water. To get the amount of calcium in an 8-ounce glass of milk, you'd have to eat one-fourth cup of broccoli, seven oranges or six slices of wheat bread.
Drinking milk made sense 10,000 years ago and it still makes sense TODAY
Management tools for dairy farms
ONE KEY TO THE SUCCESS OF A DAIRY FARM IS THE HERD MANAGEMENT

The herd manager needs to be trained in the following areas:

-
Mixture of food for the cattle, taking into account both the effect of the metabolism of the cows, in particular preventing acidosis, a key element in bovine health
-
Monitoring the intake of sufficient water. In lager herds some cows might be prevented having unrestricted access to the drinking wells by dominant cows.
-
Incountering the lactation circle and obtaining timely access to insemination
-
Health of the cow's claws by regular trimming thereby avoiding claw diseases which interfere with the milk production by IT based documentation of claw care.
-
Milk hygiene, fat content and high quality of milk safety
IT BASED technology for milk production
WE RECOMMEND THIS SYSTEM FOR ITS ABILITY
-
to provide the heard manager on a continuing basis with data right from the cow's rumen
-
to alert anomalies in the cow like acidosis, hight temperature, insufficient water intake, time slot for insemination
-
to monitor calving, reproduction

SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH ON CATTLE
Bovine prolactin is one of the main factors of protein, lactose and lipids of the milk.

The components of prolactin, depending on their quantity and availability influence the cows' reproduction and immunity function, the fluid balance, the cellular growth, including the regulation of the differentiation of cows.

Zhivotina Biodata GmbH is implementing the results of their research in its programm of

-
improving the milk we drink
-
milk improved for human consumption and human metabolism
-
with less bovine generated gases having a negative impact of the environment
-
helping to achieve a greener and healthier world
